Patient 27

A lot of you are wondering “Hey…when you are making another movie?”

Well, this is all you’re getting for now.

Sad News…

It is with a heavy heart that I have to report this. I regret to inform you that earlier this week, Barry Smith passed away.

For those of you following the Bamfer Productions films, you will remember Barry as Dr. Jacob Knight in “Lost – Off The Island.”

Ever since “Off The Island,” Barry has remained a good friend of mine. An avid lover of Lost, much like me, he was always there to exchange emails about what was going on with the show, and where he thought things were headed.

Aside from that, he was also a fantastic guy, a great actor, and more importantly, a good friend. He will be greatly missed.

Rest in piece, my friend. We’ll miss you.

We’ve been quiet…

…I know.

But for good reason. Lots of fun stuff coming up soon. Promise. I wouldn’t lie to you. Really.

Come back soon for a big, big announcement. Really.

Movies, movies, and more movies…

I love it when projects come together…

As you already know, Drunken Tentacle Productions is hard at work doing pre-production for our first film. Expect a big announcement coming soon, announcing what the big feature project is, who is involved, and just how kick ass it’s going to be.

Since that movie is going to take up a LOT of my time in 2010, especially during the actual filming, I’ve got two smaller projects that I’ll be working on before then.

First up is a short of my own doing called Shelter 7. It’s a character driven, post apocalyptic tale that I am actually quite proud of. I hope to get that down before the year as it, as long as I can iron out a few little kinks in the story.

Then, I optioned a lovely little short story from the lovely Alethea Kontis entitled The Monster & Mrs. Blake. It’s a children’s tale that I absolutely adore, and it has a lot of potential to be a creepy little kids movie. I’m very much looking forward to that one. You can read the story itself at The Story Station.

Stay tuned for more info…

Massive News Update: DVDs, Merch, and Appearances!

Though the website has been quiet lately, things have been gearing up over here at Bamfer Productions with lots of new stuff going on.

First off, we are very close to selling out of The Ties That Bind DVDs. Remember, this is a very limited run, folks, and once they are gone…they’re gone! We’ve got a few left in stock, as does Horror-Mall, but they are selling like hot cakes. And, I just wanted to say thank you guys again. Since the DVD went up for preorder, it’s been the #1 selling DVD on Horror-Mall the past two months. You guys are awesome. Thanks for that.

If you haven’t ordered yours yet, head on over to The Ties That Bind Storefront to get yours today before they are all gone!

Speaking of buying stuff, we’ll be selling some cool BamProd gear in a few weeks! The initial test run of shirts and sweatshirts went well, so it’s about time I open up the store to the public. Be on the look out for shirts, pull over hoodies, zip up hoodies, and even hats in the next few weeks. We hope to have them before the month is out, so stay tuned! Along with clothing, I’m going to put The Ties That Bind poster up on the storefront as well, since there seems to be a huge demand for them!

Speaking of the end of the month, if you’re in the Hunt Valley, Maryland area from September 25th-27th, come on out to HorrorFind Weekend! I’ll be there the entire weekend, along with the rest of the guys from Drunken Tentacle Productions. I’ll have some DVDs and posters on hand (and hopefully some shirts, too!), so come find us and say hi, share a beer, or punch Mike Lombardo (of Reel Splatter fame) in the gut! Hell, first person to do that, I’m buying ‘em a beer! For more info on HorrorFind, check out their website www.horrorfindweekend.com

Also, after that weekend, expect a very BIG announcement. Huge, major news is coming your way. I’m excited. You should be too.

That’s all for now, and hope to see some of you folks soon!

Thank You For Making Us #1

Thank you, thank you, thank you. You guys are awesome!

Wawa Hoagiefest Rap

I love Wawa hoagies. I eat them at least once a week. And that is no lie.

Wawa is doing their Hoagiefest again this year, and they are asking for people to submit songs and videos for a chance to win a gigantic Hoagie party for their friends, and free hoagies for a year.

So, I wrote a stupid rap song about my love for Wawa hoagies and it’s now live on their site and ready to be voted on.
If you could be so kind to vote me for, I’d appreciate it.

Vote FIVE STARS and I promise, if I win, I will invite everyone to my winning hoagiefest. It’ll be a hoagie party of epic proportions.

You can vote every day, once a day, for as long as the contest goes for (end of July, I think). So please vote as much as you can. Id love you forever…and so will my stomach.

Oh yea, and enjoy my crappy rap song. It’s totally bad and totally awesome. Hell, if you like it enough, I’ll set you up with a link to download it.

The Ties That Bind Website is Live!

After slacking for the past few months getting it up and running (I’ve just been using this site for all info on the film), The Ties That Bind finally has it’s own website up and running!

Check it out at www.thetiesthatbindmovie.com

I’ll be posting some information about the DVD there as well in the coming months. It’s all finished, minus the commentary, so as soon as we record that, expect an announcemnet!

Been awhile, eh?

Howdy folks!

So, it’s been a few months. Sorry about that. Been kind of busy, you know?

Lots of cool stuff coming up in the pipeline in the next few months. In no particular order (but in list format, because I’m lazy):

- The Ties That Bind will be filmed in late September.

- Due dates for the book have been pushed back until October 1st due to a scheduling error on the publisher’s part. This works out nicely for me, as it gives me more time to round it out and fix all the rough edges.

- Freaky Fruits 2. Need I say more?

- Leeds Point is playing at a lot more festivals in the coming months. As soon as we get the screening dates and times, they will be posted here.

And finally, I’m teaching a Film class next week at Ocean County College. I did a similair thing last year for iD Tech Camps, which was a cool experience (well, the first week was. Everything after that, when they moved me to another (nazi) camp was a nightmare). This time, it’s my own course, created from scratch. It’s Mon-Fri, with two sessions each day (one for younger kids, one for older). Apparently, within a week of them announcing the class, they were filled up and had 5 kids on the waiting list. Kinda cool!

I’ve had some problems so far with the organizational structure of these classes (not my fault, but the bitching will be saved for a later post), but hopefully the classes themselves will go smoothly.

For those of you who might be taking the class, here’s a map of where our classroom will be located:

That’s all for now. I’ll be back real soon, though! I promise!!

Visitors!

You see that map?
That’s just the visitors to this journal in the past 24 hours. I’m very happy about that. Thank you, each and every one of you, for taking the time to come here and read what we’re doing. I very much appreciate it. Continue to come and check out our progress, and make sure to pass it along to all your friends!

I can’t wait to see you guys this film!

:)
