Bluebottle Summer

We’ve been working on this one for awhile now, but I wanted to announce it now along with the poster.

While we are busy at work with Goth & Crow, we are also beginning preproduction on a feature length film, Bluebottle Summer.

Bluebottle Summer is a fantastic script written by our friend, and accomplished author, Bob Ford. I fell in love with it the first time I read it over 3 years ago, and I could never get it out of my mind. Now, we are at a point where we can actually accomplish this monster task, and I couldn’t be happier.

This is one of those passion projects that will consume me once we really start getting into it, and I cannot wait for it.

In the meantime, here is the teaser poster for it.

And in case you forgot, Horrorfind is this weekend! We can’t wait! There will be posters for both Goth & Crow and Bluebottle Summer at Mary and Bob’s table, respectively. I will be around all weekend, along with my producer Matt, so if you see us, come say hi!

Based on the short story by Mary SanGiovanni, this short film is expected to film by the end of the year.

The Device is being edited…

The Device is in the very capable editing hands of my good friend Mark Barragato. We have to plan a sit down session soon so we can go over it, but I have no doubt that it’ll rock when he’s done. I’ll have a better idea of a release date, hopefully within the next few weeks!

The Ties That Bind In Texas

For those of you attending the World Horror Convention in Austin, Texas this weekend (April 28-May 1st) can catch The Ties That Bind during their film screenings!

It’s playing on Friday, April 29th during the Friday Night Carnival, 8:30-11:30 in the main programming room. No idea what time it’ll ACTUALLY screen, but it’ll be sometime in there.

While you’re there, be sure to check out our good friends Reel Splatter Production’s Demonstration of the Dead, also playing during that film block! That one features a cameo appearance from Brian Keene.

This past weekend, we shot The Device! It was a long, tiring day, but we got everything done and I’m very pleased!

Now starts the long road of editing this thing down…If I thought time travel hurt my head before, it’s only going to get worse when I really get into this thing!

You see that paper along the time of the wall there? That’s the visual timeline I made for The Device to help keep track of everything. It was boggling my mind until I laid it all out in real time. To say it’s going to be a complicated shoot is a bit of an understatement!

The Device

We’re happy to announce that pre-production on our next short film, The Device, has begun! The film will be directed by Jeff Heimbuch, and produced by Matt Blazi.

‘The Device’ is a short film with a unique twist on the time travel genre.

As for the plot: The hooded figure following him and the dead body he finds in the woods are the least of Robert’s problems when he comes across THE DEVICE.

We’re also happy to announce that we’ve cast Chris Costa in the starring role of the film!

Chris has a great background in film and theater, and we’re happy to have him aboard the production. We aim to shoot in April, and we’ll have more updates on the films progress as it comes along!

Video Shoot!

As I mentioned back in August, I was going to begin working with my friend Jess Vogel doing weddings and engagement shoots. Jess, an accomplished photographer in her own right, has been doing photo shoots for weddings for awhile now and we decided to join forces to make some interesting photo & video packages.

Well, Jess & I did our first engagement shoot for Angel & Jason not too long after announcing our partnership, and I just finished putting the video together for it. I think we make an excellent time, and the bridge & groom to be were very happy with our work!

For the video, I was going for a home movie type of feel, with it being a little rough around the edges to make it feel more “real,” but not take away from the professional look of the project. I think it turned out quite well. Please take a few minutes to view it for yourself and leave some feedback!
