So what is it: It's finally finished.

After a few long months of pre, pro, and post production, "Off The Island" is now complete.

You may notice that you can view it either in its entirety or in segments. Both offer the same viewing experience. The film was shot to mimic an actual episode of 'Lost,' and it was also edited that way. So, yes, there are flashbacks. There are typical Lost related tidbits that some people may never pick up on. There are plot twists. Hell, there are even commercial breaks. Hence, the five segments. I wanted to create as close to the real thing as possible, and I think we achieved that goal.

I'm going to leave my original description of the film below, for those of you who have never seen it before. I hope you enjoy the film!

This film deals with just what the title suggests: events that are occurring off the island.
Chase Jackson is a private investigator who does a damn good job of finding people. But when he finds out that his brother, Scott Jackson, has disappeared on Oceanic Flight 815, things begin to change. A mysterious stranger shows up with some startling answers. A computer dominates his life. A very menacing organization is hunting him down. And just how far will Chase go to save his brother's life?
The film takes place during Day One through Day Twenty-Seven, Island time.

I love the TV Show "Lost." I thought it would be a great idea to make a fan film, since no one has done one before. I waited until the season was over before I started writing, because I didn't want to change anything the writer's might throw out in the last few episodes.

The difference between this short and the show is that this deals with characters who we have never met before...and who aren't on the island.

I posted the idea in a bunch of Lost fan communities: Message boards, Live Journal groups, Myspace Groups, and so on.

The respond I have received is phenomenal. After more than 400 e-mails from all over the world, it's was well on its way to being made. I set up a message board for people who want to help out. If you are interested in learning more, I suggest you take a look at the production journal, linked above, as well, because it has a ton of set pictures and so on.

If you are a die-hard LOST fan, and you're reading this because you we were linked from another website, welcome. I hope you like what you see, and will come back when the film is complete.

So how long is it: About 30 minutes all together.

So who directed it: Jeff Heimbuch
